HR Boot Camp II - Next Level HR. Three-Week Series June 2026

HR Boot Camp II is the sequel to the HR Boot Camp I series, applying hands-on experience with today’s most challenging HR issues. This series will explore the strategic role of Human Resources and the value of investing in deliberate practices to support leaders, employees and the organization through today’s biggest challenges. Prior attendance in HR Boot Camp I is encouraged, but not required for involvement in this hands-on, engaging next level HR Boot Camp series.  HR Boot Camp II is comprised of three, 3-hour virtual sessions: Tuesdays: June 9th, June 16, and June 23, 2026 from 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM ET. Eligible for 9 HRCI/SHRM certification credits.

 

Be an HR Partner to the Business
The role of the HR Business Partner requires HR professionals to align business objectives with management and employee needs.  This session is designed to provide participants with approaches and insight which allow them to meet the demands of multiple stakeholders.

  • Define our unique partnership role and learn techniques to build credibility and relationships
  • Better understand the business we support
  • Initiate strategies and align those HR priorities with employee and organizational needs

 

HR Data: HRIS & People Analytics
Strategic HR Leaders are intentional about the ways they address data and systems, applying them to inform future business needs.  In this session, we will begin with an assessment, and learn tactics to assess and anticipate the needs of the organization.

  • Assess our understanding of HRIS and data analytics
  • Use data to support business decisions
  • Develop our skills to build the “business case” for organizational change.

 

Succession Planning & Leadership Development
In this session, we will examine leadership development programs that ensure internal “high performers” are ready to seamlessly transition into key roles when needed.

  • Create processes to assess current and future talent planning needs and develop high performers
  • Explore the Performance-Potential Matrix
  • Implement talent development initiatives

 

Investigations, Audits, & EEOC Responses
HR leaders are often heard repeating the phrase “document, document, document” …. And there’s a reason for this!  Paper trails, digital records and documentation are all crucial to defending employment decisions and terminations.  In this session, participants will

  • Discuss ways to address investigations and terminations as they occur, with forethought on using all records to defend the decision at a later time.
  • Take a deep dive into the EEOC Charge of Discrimination process
  • Practice skills for writing an effective position statement

 

Leading Change: Mergers, Acquisitions, Growth, & Downsizing

Attendees will spend Session 5 in an interactive class focused on Change Management.  This week will focus on the HR skills essential to supporting an organization through large-scale changes, with an emphasis on:

  • Effectively communicate with employees during times of uncertainty
  • Explore the role of HR during the mergers & acquisitions process
  • Create effective policies for downsizing and layoffs

 

Policy Development, Substance Abuse, & Labor Relations

In our final session, participants will explore key policies and employment initiatives that are essential for top-performing HR departments.  Session 6 will end with time allotted for Q&A and individual action plans for each attendee.

  • Learn the components of effective HR policies
  • Implement effective reasonable suspicion and drug-free workplace procedures
  • Discuss labor relations and the collective bargaining process
